Who is responsible for your data
This website is operated on behalf of Adriana Melnikliyska, a practising attorney registered with the Blagoevgrad Bar Association. For the purposes of the GDPR, Adriana Melnikliyska is the data controller for personal data collected through this site. What data is collected
Two categories of personal data are collected through this website:
- Contact and enquiry data. When you use the contact form or write in by email or phone, the information you provide is collected — typically your name, country, email address, phone number, and the description of your matter that you choose to share. This information is used solely to assess your enquiry, screen for conflicts of interest, and respond to you.
- Analytics data. Like most websites, this site uses privacy-respecting analytics to understand, in aggregate, which pages are visited and how the site is used, so it can be kept accurate and useful. This does not involve building an individual profile of you for advertising purposes, and no advertising or tracking network is used to follow visitors across other websites.
Sensitive case documents are not accepted through this website
How your data is used
Enquiry data is used only to: assess whether the matter can be taken on, screen for conflicts of interest with existing or past clients, respond to your enquiry, and, if an engagement follows, to open and administer that engagement. Analytics data is used only to understand and improve the website itself. Your data is not sold, and it is not used for unrelated marketing without your separate, explicit consent.
How long your data is kept
Enquiry data from matters that do not proceed to an engagement is kept only for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and meet any applicable professional or legal record-keeping obligation, after which it is deleted. Data connected to an actual engagement is retained for as long as required by Bulgarian attorney record-keeping rules and general limitation periods, and is then deleted or anonymised. Analytics data is retained only in aggregate or for a limited rolling period, consistent with the settings of the analytics service used.
Who else sees your data
Personal data submitted through this site is not shared with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Limited categories of processors may handle data on the controller's behalf and under instruction — for example, a hosting provider that stores the website and its data, and a privacy-respecting analytics provider. Any such processor is used only to the extent necessary to run the site and respond to enquiries, and only where an appropriate data-processing arrangement is in place.
Data may also be disclosed where required by law, for example in response to a valid request from a competent Bulgarian authority.
Your rights under the GDPR
If your personal data is processed through this website, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data held about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Request deletion of your data, subject to any legal or professional obligation to retain it.
- Object to or request restriction of certain processing.
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format, where applicable.
- Lodge a complaint with the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection (Комисия за защита на личните данни), or with the data protection authority in your own EU member state, if you consider that your data has been processed unlawfully.
To exercise any of these rights, write to adrianastefi@abv.bg. A request will be acknowledged and, where it can be actioned, actioned within the timeframe required by the GDPR.
Cookies
This site uses only the cookies or similar technologies reasonably necessary to operate the website and to record aggregate, privacy-respecting analytics. Where a cookie is not strictly necessary for the site to function, your consent is requested before it is set, in line with applicable EU rules on electronic communications.
Security
Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect personal data submitted through this site against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, which is one reason sensitive case documents are handled through a separate, secure route rather than the general contact form.

This policy may be updated from time to time, for example if the way the site collects or processes data changes. The "last reviewed" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent review. Material changes affecting your rights will be reflected here with an updated date.
